On a third consecutive evening, Irish police have faced a barrage of projectiles and pyrotechnics within the capital city.

Hundreds of protesters assembled close to the gate of a facility housing asylum seekers in a westside district of the metropolis.

This marks the latest night of protests at Citywest following an alleged sexual assault involving a 10-year-old girl in the vicinity of the hotel early on Monday.

A man in his twenties, whose identity cannot be disclosed due to legal restrictions in such cases, appeared in court on Tuesday facing allegations in connection with the alleged event.

Several arrests took place during the serious disorder on that evening, and the Irish police service vowed a “robust response” if the violence continued.

Between 7pm and 8pm on the next day, a multitude of participants again faced off against approximately forty police in uniform.

The initial personnel were substituted by the public order unit outfitted with plastic shields and additional armor after sustaining hits from various thrown objects.

A number of individuals persisted to hurl masonry, flares, glass bottles, and wooden planks at the police members.

Destructive acts also occurred around the Saggart Luas tram stop, which is adjacent to the road occupied by the protesters.

Specialized officers pushed the assembly away from the hotel by progressing with their shields.

A horse patrol and a dog unit were present at the scene, with a police helicopter providing overhead assistance.

One officer was impacted by pepper spray, and those involved in the disorder also tried to block law enforcement cars using metal obstructions.

While the initial protest ended without significant issues, a woman in the force was hurt during the subsequent violence and later released from hospital after treatment for a foot injury.

A law enforcement car was also set on fire during the earlier disturbances in the period.

The police commissioner, who visited the scene following the events, stated on Wednesday that he was “resolved” to see further individuals brought before the courts to answer for their actions.

He characterized the disorder as not a peaceful protest and noted, “This was aggression with the purpose to harm the Citywest building and frighten those within.”

The country’s leader denounced the scenes of hostility, asserting there could be “no excuse” for attacks on officers.

Protesters were seen waving symbols, shouting anti-immigration slogans, and launching missiles.

There were also attempts to advance on the officer formation using horse-drawn carts and scrambler bikes on Tuesday, and a aircraft overhead was targeted with beams.
