NFL Recap: Broncos Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

During a defensive struggle this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to secure the ugly win.

Defensive Performance Wins Contest

Despite recording nine sacks versus Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets managed a mere 82 total net yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes left.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Attack

In spite of their dismal offensive display, the Jets still had the ball with a opportunity to drive for a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion instead of sending out specialist Nick Folk for a long kick.

The Jets quarterback struggled all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was completely absent," Glenn stated following the contest.
